Our Physicians

On Nov 17, 2004 ACAM's Board approved the following membership categories and fee structure:

1. Active Physician: Active members are those persons who have earned a recognized Doctorate Degree (M.D., D.O., or their equivalent) in medicine and currently possess an unrestricted license to practice medicine, issued by the applicable licensing authority, and who have been accepted for membership by the College. This category includes Fellows, Charter and Life Members. Active members have voting privileges.

  2. International
  3. First-year Physician
  • Fellows are those Active Members who, by action of the Board of Directors after successful completion of the requirements as determined by the Board of Directors, are accorded this title in recognition of their contributions to the College.
  • Charter Members are those Active Members who joined the College prior to March 1, 1974.
  • Life Members may be conferred by the Board of Directors through established criteria.

2. Affiliate Members: Open to Naturopaths, Doctors in Pharmacy, Doctors of Philosophy, Doctors of Dentistry, Doctors of Nursing, and Doctors of Science. This category includes international members holding equitable degrees from an accredited school.
3. Associate Members: Master level: NPs, PAs, LAc's, Psychologists, Dietitians, Nutritionist, RNs, and Chiropractors. Includes International members holding equitable degrees from an accredited school.
4. Physician in Training Members: Open to part-time and full time 1-4 year students enrolled in an accredited medical school, and Interns and Residents from accredited medical programs.
5. Adjunct Members: Open to retired and/or disabled physicians, and honorary members designated by the Board and Membership.

The following are categories to join ACAM as an Adjunct member. Adjunct Members currently do not have voting rights.

  • Retired and Disabled Members are members who are retired from active medical practice.
  • Honorary Membership may be conferred by the Board of Directors upon any person for distinguished service to humankind or for contributions to the objectives of the College.


Membership Fee Structure effective January 2005

At the November Fall meeting, the ACAM Board of Directors approved the following Membership fees to better reflect the new approved Membership categories:

          First-year Physician $250

          Affiliate Member US $345
          Affiliate Member Non-US $255

          Physicians in Training $25 (Now FREE!)

          Adjunct Member $215
          Adjunct Member Non-US $160

          Associate Member US $250
          Associate Member Non-US $225
