Eligibility for Professional MD/DO Membership
The applicant eligible for membership will submit a satisfactorily completed application form that includes a copy of the current state license if they are a practicing MD or DO along with appropriate initiation and registration fees. International applicants must submit prove of medical degree from an accredited and recognized medical school. In addition to proof of license and degree, prospectus members will submit two (2) letters of reference from other physicians with an unrestricted M.D. or D.O. license (not necessarily College members). The acceptance into ACAM is subject to the criteria established by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Board. Further requirements may be established by the College to be implemented by the Credentials Committee.

 

Eligibility for Professional ND Membership
The applicant eligible for membership will submit a satisfactorily completed application form that includes a copy of the current state license if practicing in a licensed ND state along with appropriate initiation and registration fees. 

ACAM only accepts membership application from Naturopathic physicians who hold a degree from one of the following accredited Naturopathic Medicine Colleges:

  • Bastyr University
  • Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences (SCNM),
  • National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM)
  • Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (BINM)
  • Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM)
  • University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine (UBCNM)
In addition to proof of license and degree, prospectus members will submit two (2) letters of reference from other physicians with an unrestricted M.D. or D.O. license (not necessarily College members). Eligibility for Affiliate Membership
Applicants for Affiliate Membership will submit a satisfactorily completed application form which shall include a copy of current licenses, degrees or certification, as required by ACAM, together with a check representing the appropriate fee plus a letter of recommendation from an Active Member of the College or licensed professional within the medical community. Acceptance of an application is subject to the criteria established by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Board. Further requirements may be established by the College to be implemented by the Credentials Committee. Those eligible for membership under this category must hold a degree in:  Doctor in Pharmacy, Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Dentistry, Doctor of Nursing, or Doctor of Science. This category includes international members holding equitable degrees from an accredited school.

 

Eligibility for Physician In Training Membership
Open to part-time and full time 1-4 year students enrolled in an accredited medical school, and Interns and Residents from accredited medical training programs. Students attending schools in Naturopathic medicine may be eligible for this category

 

Eligibility for Associate Membership
Applicants for Associate Membership will submit a satisfactorily completed application from which shall include a copy of current licenses, degrees or certifications as required by ACAM, together with a check representing the appropriate fee plus a letter of recommendation from and Active Member of the College or licensed professional within the medical community. Acceptance of an application is subject to the criteria established by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Board. Further requirements may be established by the College to be implemented by the Credentials Committee. Those eligible for membership under this category must hold a degree equivalent to Masters-level in the following fields: NPs, PAs, Psychologists, Dietitians, Nutritionist, RNs, and Chiropractors. This category includes International members holding equitable degrees from an accredited school.
