The Price Pottenger Nutrition Foundation presents
NUTRITION THAT HEALS From Generations of Research
Wednesday April 21, 2010

Pioneering researchers in the field of health and nutrition have found a strong link between diet, vitality, and disease-free survival of all populations studied. Today, those who continue to consume their traditional foods, which vary throughout the world, enjoy long-term health that is the envy of their “civilized” counterparts.

In response to the need for reliable information on nutrition, ACAM and PPNF have partnered to offer a comprehensive program in diet and supplementation. This seminar is the first part of an extensive educational program that will soon become available.

This seminar will cover:

  • The importance of the pioneering research of Weston A. Price, DDS, and Francis M. Pottenger, Jr., MD.
  • How to apply the wisdom of traditional diets to prevent modern-day diseases and improve health.
  • What a healthy diet really is, how this has been validated, and what dietary changes are the most important while working with your patients.
  • The role of essential animal fats in human nutrition and the benefits of select vegetable fats when used properly.
  • Why kidney and liver laboratory tests are unreliable and the importance of supporting these organs with appropriate supplements.
  • The current misguided theory on cholesterol.
  • The myths surrounding vegetarianism.
  • Healthy and unhealthy dairy products.
  • Methods of reducing exposure to environmental toxins and effective ways to work on detoxifying your patient population.
  • Why we need nutritional supplements, with specific recommendations of products David finds to work best with his patients (no financial interest involved).
  • Recommended books and resources to use in educating your patients. These include historical, multi-generational studies showing that veganism is not the best diet for long-term health.

Adequate time will be given for Q&A so that all questions are answered, especially those regarding liver and kidney support, nutritional supplementation, and detoxification.

Target Audience:
This course is designed for all physicians, nutritionists, and other health care professionals who use nutrition in their practice. It is also for those interested in incorporating nutrition into their patient's treatment plan and want information they can trust.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this educational activity, attendees should be able to:

  • Identify how traditional diets differ from one another and from our industrialized diets.
  • Review which diseases seem to be non-existent in those eating traditional diets.
  • Explain what are the greatest differences in diet.
  • Discuss with patients the most important aspects of nutrition to help them improve their health and reduce their risks.
  • Assess how traditional diets soundly disprove the already shaky cholesterol theory.
  • Evaluate the vegetarian diet and its impact on health.
  • Recognize healthy animal and vegetable fats in a traditional diet.
  • Identify and reduce toxic exposures in our patient's lives and in society.
  • Prescribe the appropriate nutritional supplements due to the body's increased demand and decreased levels in the food supply.
  • Evaluate liver and kidney function and it's role in diet and health.
